Looks and fit very well.

Decided to snag it as a good hat for slightly colder weather, not only is comfortable and simple but was able to add a nice band to the crown myself with minimal effort.

Nice looking western hat. Bought big size and adjust it down with the internal adjustment. Big size allows scarves and hoods in winter. Bought for naturalist role at Colorado State Park, but like the hat so much will probably use it as my main hiking hat.

Used for hunting to keep the sun out my eyes very nicely made.

I bought this, a black canvas duster, black canvas waistcoat and a sheriff badge for a look I was going for, aside from the badge I wore the outfit to the cinema to see the phantom of the opera and I got a few compliments and not only that I've never felt more like myself wearing these clothes!

I love this hat!!!! I was worried about buying a hat online, but it arrived very safely packed in a box of sufficient size so it was in perfect condition. I didn't even have to so much as fold, bend, or shape it anywhere. Hat perfection right out of the box. My head is 22' around and I bought the medium Perfect size for me and very comfortable. It comes with a feather in the band that can be removed or swapped out if desired. I just want the plain black hat so I removed mine, but saved if for later just in case. The hat is made very well and looks great on. Even though I ordered other items at the same time, they shipped the hat in its own box which I appreciate because I have ordered items from other websites before and they have thrown everything in together and something inevitably gets ruined. Not the case with Historical Emporium. They put quality and care into everything. Even packing and shipping. Thank you!!

I have had hats before but this one my wife is very pleased with which is a plus. It is what the website shows. I have a 23 1/4 size head which is for almost all hats between large and extra large. I bought extra large and added a short sizer to each side and it's perfect. I agree with my wife - best hat so far.

The hat was exactly as described and pictured. Sizing was spot on with the help of the sizing chart. I bought a care kit and a leather hat band to spruce it up a little bit and it's perfect. Now I wear it every day, especially when I head out to the barn.

This Slouch Hat is very well made. I ordered an extra large and had to had a little extra band to the inside for a good fit. I really like this hat, especially the wide brim.

Historically accurate, great quality, good price, looks great, lots of compliments, forms quickly, easily and nicely into everything a Slouch Hat should be. Love the quality and looks of this hat

This has to be the most comfortable hat I've ever had! Light wool felt that seems to breath a bit better than others I've had. Not too tight or loose or any feeling of heaviness or other. It looks good with my face shape and all too. Really seems to suite me well for the price. Workmanship is good too. I changed the band to one of western diamondback rattler like JB Books and it looks even better yet! I'll be back...

I've never really been a big "hat person." In the deep South, mostly that means shruggin on a ballcap to keep the sun off. Nice hats are for pretentious people with more money than sense. I went with the large size but found it shaped for too circular of a head shape. I was able to steam it to be more oblong front to back. Your mileage may vary. Great hat!

I was looking for a Zorro-type hat to wear when I attend performances of my play that features Zorro. Earlier I had bought some costume hats, one size fits all, but I have a big head and they don't fit comfortably. Based on other comments, I chose XL for my head, which measures slightly over 23". The hat fits perfectly! It's also more affordable than the Cordovan hats I found elsewhere.

This product is good quality. My problem was sizing. I used the sizing aid and ordered a size too small. Be careful on your sizing.

Large should include that extra quarter inch that was not there! If I had ordered extra large size the hat would have fitted me like a bucket! The size LARGE should include an extra quarter inch for people who are genuine half sizes-- between Large and XL. This is the case with shoes as well. I am a genuine 11 and a half and so it is with hats! Be more inclusive! Damn you! Otherwise I like my hat, even if it gives me a headache!! Now I can be Zorro and play classical guitar like the wind! Thank you! Grrrrr!!!

A great hat! A perfect match for a hat in an 1820s local portrait which is the period portrayed. Makes for a more casual and relaxed look instead of the formal looking top hat.

But the fit is a bit tight. As someone with a mondo Melon for a noodle I expected an xl to fit watermelon sized craniums, it may need to stretch to accommodate my brain girth.

I thought the Hat would be a little more sturdy.... but I am very pleased with the look. With a little Hot Steam... I was able to shape the hat just the way I needed it.

So I've worn Stetson straw and felt cowboy hats almost daily for 15-20 years. This is the first of purchase, of a lid that is not sized by inches and, I did not try on prior. For the price and the fact that I'll shape it to my style/personality, I'm quite pleased. This lid will ware sooner than heavier felts yet, the ware will be a great contributor to the look I seek. I still ware my straw most of the time but, now when stepping out I'll be someone with assured presence. Cause let's face it, somebody's got to have some style. Add my duster and it's hillbilly deluxe. Billing, shipping and overall service was very pleasing.

I didn't want the hat strings on the hat. Decided to go ahead and order the hat since that was the only way it came. I will take the strings off of the hat to wear the hat. The hat strings are not an optional item. It would possibly help others decide to purchase the hat without strings if you made the hat strings optional with a wait time for delivery (custom order).

In anticipation of playing the role of Fagin in a local community theater production of "Oliver!" I searched and searched for a wide, flat brim hat with a fairly low crown that would complement my costume, but not "break the bank." I finally ordered this one, and although the crown was not quite as low as I had wanted, it still turned out to be an excellent choice. The fit and look both are perfect. And it is very sturdy ... I accidentally sat on it (a black hat on a black chair) and thought that would ruin it -- but the crown went right back into shape when I popped out the crumples! A great hat that I most certainly will wear and enjoy for many more years, along with the other quality period pieces I have previously purchased from Historical Emporium.
