Pants are very well made and very soft. The only issue is the length since they're a one length fits all type pants so prepare another 20$ to your bill to get them properly hemmed but overall definitely worth the money

These are really good canvas, and are my second pair. The first were size 32 in another color. One thing to know is this color runs small. The 32” brown were like man leggings that don’t bend. I’m not overweight and I was muffining out the top. So sold that pair to a friend who is made of popsicle sticks and got myself 34”. Those are perfect!! So order a size up if you eat food.

Unfortunately, I was trying to integrate them into my wardrobe and, due to the inseam and my wearing the new slimmer profile styles, I couldn't abide the mass of material at the crotch level. I understand that the cut of these is authentic. Wish there were someone making a slimmer version with a more tapered leg.

Bought them 2" bigger than my usual size, as per suggestion, and the fit is perfect. Tailor charged $20 to hem them, so glad I got them on sale!!! Extremely comfortable, cool looking pants!! These period clothes will be part of my everyday public wear. I don't care for contemporary fashion at all. Everyone looks the same. As far as the trousers, they're still in alteration for a shorter inseam adjustment so I have yet to wear them.

We are members of MAFCA, the Model A Ford Club of America. We drive a 1928 Roadster and like to period dress for events and occasions. These trousers, knickers, shirts etc. from Historical Emporium fit the bill. Even though they are earlier vintage, for working guys, they are still in style for the 20's, 20's and even 40's. The fit is good and the quality high. Love the stuff! We are hosting the MAFCA 2024 National Convention at Ruidoso, NM in June and are rigging up for the festivities with new duds.

The size 34 was too small so I sent them back for a 36" even though I normally wear a 33 or 34 so buyers take note

Can't believe this style ever fell out of fashion, so comfortable, and smart looking. I feel like a human being when I wear these pants. Perfect fit, suspenders buttons appear to be of a quality that will last, same for all the seams. Couldn't be more satisfied.

I bought this for Mark Twain Days. Lots of people dress in 1860 attire for the event. I look like I just arrived out west during the Comstock Era.

We attend the Great Dickens Faire in the San Francisco Bay area every year since 2007, with the exception of, well you know, Covid. And my husband had decided that he would like a new pair of pants so he could change up his regular outfit. Coincidentally, doing some googling, we found Historical Emporium. Even more of a coincidence it was about 45 minutes from where we currently were, in the bay area. So we called to see if we could by chance get these pants by picking them up. And the answer was yes. I bought these pants for Halloween and I love them. I had to get them altered around the crotch and the length of the pants but in all honesty I liked that they only go based off of your waist size because it makes them much more customizable for your needs.

These pants fit very well and look great. I am especially impressed with the quality of these. I also like the manufacturer did not put their maker tag on the outside of the garment. The waist size I ordered is 38, although I normally wear 35-36. Packaging and service were excellent.

The fit was great, I'm always nervous when buying mail order. This is the second pair of trousers I have bought from Historical Emporium, I'm sure it won't be the last. I do my own hemming, by hand and it was very easy to measure, cut & sew. I highly recommend your outfits to anyone interested in an accurate 19th century wardrobe.

These 19th century western trousers fit well and look great! But the standard 36 inch inseam is in need of cutting back to 28 inches or so. We're not all 6'6"!

the pants surprised me by being very light weight.. apparently i didn't fully read .. or they weren't described as such.... they do run smaller and rereading you need to measure your mid belly to get the right fit .. you cannot go by waist size and it does in fact say that in measuring for them SO pay attention..

I'm a photographer and bought these for my model for a historical photoshoot. They are well made and tough, the only issue I had was that one pocket was sewn into the crotch seam. I was able to remove the stitching and they were fine after that.

I have been longing to get a pair just like these. Very pleased with the quality and fit. This will be perfect in my new role at Original 1880 Town in South Dakota.

You folks put a lot of emphasis on "occasion'. Try this! In my case, there ain't no special occasion. I'll reiterate that the britches FIT! They come up on your waist like britches should and not under where your trousers are underneath your belly like some form of a ding bat. They have POCKETS that actually can hold stuff and don't fit so tight that when you put something in your pocket it doesn't imprint and be uncomfortable when you sit. They come with enough material in the legs to actually have them hemmed in a full break, half break, whatever, or "high waters" if you wear boots. Style and fashion for skinny jeans and pistol legged pants that come half way to your knees is a "con" contrived by manufacturers that started just before WWII and THEN as well as NOW, to add insult to injury, they upped their darned prices for less material in the names of "style and fashion". They ain't worth a tinker's damn! Brothers' don't bend over to pick up your soap in the showers! They're more than happy to take your money for less. These pants are great for everyday wear and won't present your naked arse when you stoop or bend over. They come with brace attachments and truth of the matter is, suspenders work much, much better than belts anyway. Even with all the “BS” that goes on in Washington, (and has been for decades) making it harder and harder for the middle class, it's worth a "few dollars more", (and I like Clinton Eastwood movies), to have the hems adjusted just the way...

I purchased these trousers to wear while riding and working with my mule . They are very well made , from substantial fabric , and extremely comfortable with room for movement . I'm a big guy , with large leg muscles , and these are comfortable whether standing , walking , or sitting in the saddle . They have that cool "old west" look too!

These all cotton trousers lasted me ~5 years each time (owned 2 pair) with heavy wear (100 times a year for work). About to get them again. Good period fit, great buttons, includes replacement buttons if needed, wash fine like modern denim. Like all cotton, fades with sun exposure and wear, but that is part of the purpose- these are fine to actually live and work in.

Put these bad boys on and immediately got transported into the Oregon Trail. It's nice and peaceful out here but dysentery is almost guaranteed. It's a good thing these things aren't letting anything in or out.

A reenacting event in Little Rock, AR. Things were great. I looked and felt great. But be aware, your size is not the same size as Wal Mart so get them a little larger.

The fit was a little tight and the strap on the back of the pants came undone when I bent over. I took the pants to a tailor and they fixed them right up but now I'm very happy. I probably could've done a better job with the sizing but I need a 33 not the available sizes of 32 (ordered). and 34. I think that some better quality assurance would've gone the fact that the strap in the back was really not securely sewn in the first place [on one side]. Overall, I'm happy and I will be using these when I play in my band.

My husband bought these for cowboy action shooting. They needed to be hemmed (as always) but they fit really well and he said they are comfortable to wear all day moving around. These have a skinnier fit than other styles.

The trousers are well made, the stitching is excellent. The advertised size 42 was a true 42. The crotch area is very comfortable. The fabric is smooth, substantial but not heavy or stiff.

While they are true to size as described on the website, it should be noted that because they are cotton, they do stretch once worn and heated up by the body - similar to how jeans will stretch out once worn several times.
