I acquired this in order to dress as the Third Doctor for Halloween/Pop Culture occasions. I enjoy the fact that I have some length to work with as I'm not tying it in the traditional fashion. I don't know if it's a lighting thing but mine does not seem to be nearly as shiny as the one in the pictures. The material is odd feeling but it doesn't slip so I can tie it into a large bow tie without any issues. It looks really great with my smoking jacket and cloak from here.

I bought both the red and black cravats. I like them both and wear them more than I anticipated. Not only do they work well as described on the website--although it is a little short if you wear a low-cut waistcoat--but they also work as a summer scarf to protect the back of your neck and as a lighter four-in-hand tie.
The only draw back may be that the red one is very red. My wife says it makes me look like a Young Pioneer.

Great and cheap cravat!
This accessory is simple, cheap, and effective. The cravat can be knotted and tied and so many ways, as to imply limitless uses. These particular cravats look amazing, the quality is great, and I cannot say enough good things about them. Being as it is, it does crease quite easily, so an ironing before or after each wearing would be recommended to maintain that sharp, crisp appearance.

This awesomely simple piece of clothing adds to any 19th century outfit, be it early or even late century, regency as well as late victorian.
It is long enough to be tied in different ways to add some variety to your style. I have both silk/satin ties/ascots as well as this cravat, but
if you are not so much a fan of satin and silk, this is a great simple alternative. The colour is wonderful, I also ordered one in black, the price
is just great!

nice item...but if you have a larger neck..this is way way to small to even consider tying it as shown in example. There is no way you can wrap it twice around your neck, even wrapping it once and trying to tie it is difficult

Colors are rather unimaginative. Cotton actually works better than my silk version, and better than my synthetic version, as it holds its bow shape better. Cotton washes and presses easily.

Getting lots of compliments
I am quite pleased with the quality and value of the cravat. While the length is not enough to be tied as a traditional tie (twice-wrapped fully round the collar) the cravat works perfectly well as displayed in the advert.
I have worn it only one day into the office, and it is getting plenty of positive attention.
