There's not a whole lot to say for a "fake" bowtie. It looks convincing, which is the most important thing, and is easy to adjust and wear. What more would you need? It looks nice, is easy to work with, and works with many outfits.

A great period look
While quite expensive, this tie really looks great. It was creased when it arrived so I placed a towel over the tie and ironed the tie through the towel. The wrinkles went away and the tie looked great.

I prefer the look of the Floppy Bow Tie on a regular wear basis. This Tie also makes a statement and when worn with white shirts is quite attractive. I might shorten the "arms" just a bit to "balance" the look - my opinion - a bit better.

I told my wife that I was getting this tie to go with my Farnsworth vest and wing collar shirt. She rolled her eyes and muttered, “Dear lord. You want to look like Colonel Sanders.” I took that to mean that she wholeheartedly approved of my choice. That was my misunderstanding. However, when everything arrived and I put it on, she did approve! Not only did she approve, she started naming all the places and events where I can wear it! It’s the small moments in marriage that build a lifetime of fun. Don’t take yourself too seriously! Have some fun, even if other people think you’re silly!

Honestly, I am disappointed with the tie and did not wear it to the event I wanted to go to. The 'hook' that is mounted just behind the tie is not really behind the tie, and to wear it with a stand-up collar is impossible because the clasp shows! I have it packaged ready to return. Also, somewhere along the line a mistake was made, I really wanted the 001220 Deluxe Western Bow and I got the 001223 Deluxe Floppy Bow. I cannot declare who was at fault, but I was going to wear it anyway.

Beautifully crafted out of quality material, but I still I have no idea how to properly tie the blasted thing! There's a step-by-step pictorial of instructions available online, but it's just not elementary enough for my needs. I was lost by Step 3. So if you're willing to tackle the Rubik's Cube of fashion accessories, best of luck figuring this one out!

Not quite what I had expected
I was slightly disappointed when on receiving the tie I found it was not a strip of fabric that fastened with a button, but actually hooked together at the side and the front button was fixed to hold the two parts together. I can't really complain because the price is so reasonable, but I had imagined the tie to be of a slightly higher quality. Although the fact that the tie is adjustable tends to make up for it's construction. Would still recommend.
