Definitely get the shirt heavily starched or make your own from rice flour. The collar should always be very stiff.

My husband is a tall thin guy and the small was a perfect fit for him. It looks great and the buttons and stitching is very high quality. Would definitely buy again from these guys.

Great shirt

Very nice looking and comfortable shirt that is well made in a good quality cotton. Size is a bit bigger than expected, but after a cold wash and a tumble dry it shrunk to a perfect fit.

This is not a cheap replica or tuxedo shirt. It's high quality fabric and craftsmanship. Very please worth the extra money

I am into Steampunk, and this is the conclusion of attire I needed in its creation. I had several other shirts that just couldn't fit the bill for various different reasons. When I put the shirt on with my other clothes and then finally the face mask I created, the shirt gave an added debonair look that made me say only one thing. "EXCELSIOR!!"

This is a very nice quality shirt, I have found that for the money the dress shirts are the way to go. This is my 4th dress shirt, 2 from Frontier Classics and 2 from Scully, there nice shirts. Ive been harsh in the past on a (work shirt) I returned, I expected a better quality.

I wanted an authentic western shirt for my new hobby of Cowboy Action Shooting. I ran across Historical Emporium on the web and they had so many different patterns and colors of western shirts that it was difficult to make a decision. I finally decided on the Coulter style in black and white pinstripe. This is a great shirt, authentically styled and tailored and the pinstripes are visually very pleasing. Quality is quite nice and the large cut of the shirt is very comfortable. I am very pleased with the shirt.

Once again, I am simply delighted by the superior quality of this item, its authentic styling and true to size fit. It's also quite stylish and damned comfortable, to boot. I've only one, eensy problem with the shirts available here: I love french cuffs, and they simply aren't available on many of the shirts. You might want to seriously consider asking your manufacturer to offer them. Otherwise? Fine garment!

If you love the look of the Wild, Wild West, you will absolutely love the Coulter Shirt. This shirt has the perfect collar for a hand-tied bow or string tie. It is comfortable to wear and can go well with any solid-colored vest. The fit is fantastic! Best of all, it does not need dry cleaning. Machine wash in cold water and hang to dry for best results.

I ordered a Medium Coulter Shirt - and the sizing appears to run large. So, I returned it and ordered a Small, which fits perfectly (kind'a amazing because I don't wear a small *anything*!). The quality is impeccable and the shirt looks GREAT!

I wear these shirts with the Chadwick waistcoat over the top. The shirts fit very well, and look much nicer with a waistcoat than a more modern style shirt with a pointed collar. The material and colours are lovely.

Loved shirt

Not all Poofy Shirts are made equal. Bought this Pirate Shirt in a 2X for my boyfriend. He's 6'5" and, well, just bigger, and this shirt fit him like a yoho-ing piratey dream. The cotton fabric is a very nice quality, heavy with a little bit of knit feel to it, and the lace up closure at the chest, is just perfect to show off manly manly chest hair. Very well made. Sturdy material. Collar is as advertised, tall. Fit comes just underneath the jawline. Cuffs are magnificent as they are a true fold over French cuff in every sense. Cufflink holes line up on the mark. These are not conversion cuffs as there are no buttons, so keep that in mind when ordering. Sleeves are a bit long for me. Bought a size large. I'm a 16-161/2 neck with a 34/35 sleeve. Easy remedy is to buy a pair of sleeve garters. Problem solved. As with all the shirts I've purchased here, very satisfied. Will wrinkle when laundered so be ready for some starch and ironing.

The shirt fit as expected per the measurements and sizing chart. The quality of the fabric and sewing are excellent. Sleeves were a bit longer than expected, but that gave a good, baggy/slouchy sleeve look, which I liked. The collar and shoulders were proper tightness to complete the high-collar look for my outfit.

Very good quality textile. Crafted as well as any modern-made shirt. It should last a long time. Because of the full-cut, I will need to have the sleeves shortened, but that was expected.

I just returned from Tombstones "Helldorado Days" where I wanted to get my photo taken with the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday. I had wonderful black Frontier Classics trousers, red apache scarf, grey tweed vest and white banded collar shirt. I ended up hating the shirt. It made me feel like I was choking. I bought the Sinclair Edwardian shirts in all the colors available and LOVE them. With the proper ties I can leave the collar unbuttoned, breathe and still look good.

I most recently had the opportunity to attend a “Black Tie Chic” event. I did not want to purchase an entire tuxedo- what do to? I turned to the myriad of shirts at Historical Emporium to put together a “look”. To include the Tuxedo-look of the Sinclair Edwardian Club Collar Shirt and Gold Vest. Well let me tell you I looked sensational- some folks came up to me and said I looked dapper. I was worried about size but the shirt xxl fit fine- great cotton feel. At 6:5" and 280#, finding costume wear is challenging. But the 3x fits perfectly. I also have a shirt in white as well. Perfect for my various pirate outfits.

I love the feel and fit of this shirt. I've never had a shirt like this before and so was very pleasantly surprised to find I could remove the "flounce" and have a simpler, less formal, but still elegant look. Like getting two shirts for the price of one. (My daughter who is an aficionado of Victorian and Regency fashion loved it.) I was a little concerned because the shipping had left the collar badly wrinkled, but my daughter told me to just hang it in the bathroom while I took a steamy shower and voila - good as new! All in all I am delighted with this shirt.

My husband loves the shirt. He said it is better then he thought by looking at it, top quality and fits perfect. It is perfect for our sons wedding which is a Alice in Wonderland Tea Party with a touch of Steam Punk! It took only days for us to get it. I just simply needed a classically designed shirt for a semi dressy outfit with my new Callahan Frock Coat. I'm a retired architect and a jewelry artist, and I prefer distinctive clothing. I'm in the process of making a very special hand carved Australian Opal and yellow 18k gold-set bola tie to wear with this outfit. The shirt's tailoring and fit is just what I was hoping for.
