This is a wonderful skirt -- the color is just as shown in the photo (a rich deep garnet), the material is light and flowy, and the cut is flattering for a variety of body types. It is "classic" enough to be included in a vintage-type outfit, but also contemporary enough to be worn in everyday situations. I love it!

This skirt was purchased as a Christmas gift for a friend. She absolutely loved it -- tried it on as soon as she opened it and did not take it off for the rest of the evening! She and her family (as well as I) were very impressed with the quality and beauty of the skirt.

First off all, this skirt was beautiful! I loved it. Unfortunately, I couldn't wear it. It only comes in one size, and while it technically fit me--insofar as I could get it on my body--it was not attractive at all. I am on the large size, and the skirt fit very tightly over my caboose' and did not, in fact swirl and just plain looked bad. This really needs to come in a bigger size, with more fabric, for the plus size among us. I gave it to my daughter, who is much smaller than I, and it looks lovely on her. I hope to see it offered in a larger size some day so I can buy one for myself.

The fabric of the skirt really is lovely. The length was perfect, the only down side is the very strong elastic at the waist, will take some stretching to loosen it up.

The skirt is as described and accurately represented in the photos. The sizing chart seems accurate as well. This is important to me because I run between sizes (it's gonna be a small or a medium). Well made. Haven't worn it yet but it is the exact look I was searching for.

This skirt (And company) is AMAZING... I ordered it for NYE to go with a stunning corset I had just won in a contest, & the shipping was SO FAST that I got it in PLENTY of time. I'm pretty short (5'3"), and the chiffon "train" in the back still came to about what you see in the pic; But I definitely couldn't have worn flats with it. LOL I was at a venue with 4,000+ people, & was probably the oldest woman in the room (I'm 54), & I was voted the "Sexiest-Dressed-Woman" of the night... :-)

I ordered a 3X, which is the size I normally wear in clothes, but this fit like the top size items offered by Chinese vendors on Amazon... I am guessing from how far this came from zipping up that a 3X might really fit a size 14 or 16 person. The fabric was also very lightweight, much more so than I was expecting.

I ordered this skirt fir a costume, and to use for future costumes/events. The quality of the skirt is great, though the design is a little weird to figure out how it works at first. However it really only takes a few moments to get it. I got plenty of compliments on it, and it even lent to me winning a costume contest. However, I had issues with the sizing chart. I typically wear a 20 in bottoms in standard store sizing. According to the chart, I needed a 28. Now, there was another reviewer who mentioned the same statistics, and said that the 28 was about a size and a half too big, so I ordered a 26 hoping that would fit. It does not. With how it fits, I probably should have gotten a 22. Had I not been wearing a corset with my costume that held the skirt up, I wouldn't have been able to wear it. I'm going to have to get it taken in to wear it in the future.

I am so very pleased with this purchase. The skirt is beautiful in every way. Very well constructed with high quality, durable frabric that drapes and runches beautifully. The zipper is durable and expertly sewn in. The eyelets are smooth and perfect. Wrinkles steam out quickly and easily while the fabric dries instantly. I love that it can be worn literally 6 different lengths (though most of us will likely only use 3) and is so highly versatile. I bought this to be my base unit skirt for any costume I wish from vampire, witch, to gypsy, pirate, to Dickens Faire and Lady in Mourning and on and on. It Is Perfect! Note: The skirt runches in three different sections on each side of the skirt. It took me a while to find the ribbon that runches the middle section. They are on the INSIDE of the skirt. When you pull the ribbons inside the skirt both the top and middle sections runch up. If you are apple shaped like me, do NOT go buy the size chart. This skirt is very high waisted without any elastic or stretchablily. I went by the waist measurement and ended up with a skirt 3 sizes too big. I ordered one size larger than I normally wear and it fits perfectly. If you are looking for that perfect skirt to build you garb and costume wardrobe upon, you won't go wrong with the Margurite.

I am a plus-sized woman so I paid attention to the size chart and ordered what, according to their guide, should fit me. Now, in normal US stores, like Belk's, I wear size 20. According to their guide, I needed a size 28 to fit my hips and waist. Since it was a high waist, and a fitted skirt, I wanted to make darn sure it wasn't going to be too small as there was no give. So, I ordered the 28. The 28 is a size and a half too big, and now I'm left trying to figure out in the world I'm going to take this sucker in without messing it up.

I love the look and fit of this skirt. I am excited to add it to my wardrobe and start wearing it places! An added note, which I picked up in other reviews, is that the length is adjusted from the inside of the skirt. I will definitely be shopping here again!

Skirt fits well but I'm short (5 3 1/2") and short waisted, so the top of the skirt hits over my rib cage. Therefore I have to fold it down to wear it comfortably. Lucikly I have a bodice I can wear over it. Would be nice to have a similar skirt that I could wear with a shirt tucked in!

Referred to size guide and was concerned I needed to allow for tucked in blouse. I was wrong. I ordered next smaller size and it fit fine. It is actually a nice quality skirt. I will send the first skirt in for a refund only because it was too loose.

I originally ordered the grey version of the Lorena skirt and LOVED it and the color of it but had to change to the black for color/costume matching reasons. This is a good quality skirt and will be fun for my steampunk costume. Note that the waist is VERY high - I ended up sizing up one size just to try to get it to sit a little lower. I love the look of the bow, but because the waist is so high, it will have to be removed or repositioned so that it can be worn with a corset (when I tried the skirt on with the corset, the bow was located approximately at the top of the lower set of corset ties).

This is a lovely garment and it fits exactly according to the sizing chart. In the picture it was hard to tell but it is made of a cotton or at least part cotton fiber.

Don't buy the size you may wear off the rack in the store. I measured my waist and hips and checked the size chart. I ordered that size, and it fits perfectly. The quality is excellent--it's made as a good piece of clothing, not a cheap costume. They are the only site I've found that has good quality historical costumes that are plus sized.

I thought the ruffles looked like they might be satin in the photo on the website, but they are regular fabric, which will make ironing out wrinkles less nerve wracking! Great Price, Fast shipping. I found it true to size but very long, I'm 5'3" , I have to wear it high up on my ribs and it still goes way past my feet. 4" heels or higher will need to be worn. I found it to hug my curves which is something I was hoping for. The lace detail on the back is gorgeous.

I purchased this skirt to wear to a Victorian-themed wedding, and I couldn't be happier with it. The fabric is of great quality, with a nice weight to it, and given the cut, the skirt still offers a surprising amount of mobility. The lacing is more for show than function, but I appreciate the ease of the zipper. To top it off, it looks absolutely ravishing!

Love this skirt. I bought it to wear to a masquerade ball paired with a corset top. It looks fantastic. It does run a bit long, but that was easily solved by hemming the bottom. It hugs my curves, but I can still move well in it. The fit was very true to the sizing chart.

Although I love the quality and look of this skirt, it wiil have to be altered due to the long length. It is easily 6 inches longer than stated length.

I am 5'3" and even in 2" heels the skirt comes up to my breasts. About 4 inches above my natural waist. Will need to have it altered quite a bit to fit my very curvy, petite frame. But i pulled it up and used it under my corset and disguised it temporarily.

I was a little apprehensive about ordering something like this online but man am I glad I did. Everything was very neat when I received the package and when I tried it on this thing fit me like a glove. It is VERY true to size, if you are an inch or two bigger than one of the sizes and you are thinking "Eh, I bet I can squeeze in there" um you can try but I wouldn't count on being able to do it. It also does not really stretch so don't count on that either and it has a lovely high waist that fit very well under my corset and blouse that I wore with it. I got a lot of compliments and it I must say... I felt like my butt looked great in this. It's simple, made of a nice material, with a very neat zipper closure. I look forward to getting a chance to wear this again.

Very much liked this piece as much in the pictures and when I received it. It came in a very timely fashion and the quality of the skirt is excellent, not costume clothing but very wearable and well made. I am looking forward to ordering more pieces from this site and with finding pieces to go with this great skirt. The only drawback is that I am only 5"1 and the skirt is rather long, better with some heels but won't be wearing it unless it dry outside as it does touch the ground. Overall it is one of my favorite new skirts and will be wearing it frequently!!!!

This skirt is very well made from a rich, satiny fabric. If ordering from the U.S., take into consideration that the sizing runs smaller. You'd do well to order two sizes larger than your normal size to account for this. I normally wear an XL but it arrived too small; I exchanged it for a 2XX, and it fit perfectly. I was a bit disappointed that the lacing is only decorative as it would have allowed for tweaking the fit a bit but it was not a necessity. The ruffled placket in the back is gorgeous and one of the skirt's finest details. Side zipper is well hidden, and the length is perfect for high heels. Together with the Callista Coat, this is one uniquely beautiful outfit.

Well made! Good quality! Flares out perfectly! Bought it for my Dia de los Muertos costume. I wear a size 6 and the medium fit perfectly and I was able to walk comfortably! I slightly pulled up skirt to get in and out of car. My only call out is that I live in San Mateo (about 35 miles from company) and I felt shipping was expensive given how close I am. But I did get the package in about 2 business days.

This skirt fits like a glove! It hugs my curves and looks stunning. I took my measurements before ordering, and then ordered accordingly and it fits like it was custom made for me. I am 5'2" and the boots I wear with it had about a 2 inch heel. So I ended up having to hem the bottom layer a few inches, but it was easy and looks amazing. The lace and detail on this skirt are spot on. It is well made and a wonderful addition to my Steampunk apparel.

When I started my search for a beautiful and unique outfit for a Masquerade in Paris themed party earlier this year, I happened upon this website and instantly fell in love with your clothing. I had a really hard time choosing because there are so many things that I wanted, but I narrowed it down to the Vivien Fishtail skirt in black jacquard. Wow, wow, wow! I felt like royalty in this skirt! And I can't even describe the looks on peoples' faces or the number of compliments I received. I wore a short sleeved, ruffled white blouse (mine) and the full length black gloves w/decorative buttons (also on your site) and voila!, a huge success, to say the least. I'm 5'9" and am a fairly fit 165 lbs. and the large was just right and the length was perfect with heels. I had some issues with the zipper at first, but with all the helpful suggestions from your customer service representative, I worked it out, and had no problems the night of the party. It is a mermaid cut, so be gentle sitting and going up stairs. I had to slip out of it to use the bathroom so as not to rip anything, but well worth the effort-no harm, no foul. Lovely customer service, but they told me to Always talk to Customer Service as the sizes are not consistent for them, either. I fell in love with this skirt at first sight. I ended up ordering 3 and returning 2 to get the correct sizing. The fabric does not give at all and does not match my normal size from other stores. I ended up keeping the skirt that was 2 sizes larger and had alterations done to take in the waist. I bought this skirt to wear for my grandmother's 80th birthday / retirement party and I'm ao glad I ordered way ahead of time to allow for returns and proper sizing.

I absolutely adore this skirt. I followed the measurements in the size chart and it fit almost perfectly but my hips are pretty wide so I may need the waist taken in a little. Great quality, looks like a very expensive piece but was actually very affordable. Would definitely recommend!

I love this skirt but at 5 2" it is about 5 inches too long, with heels! I'm going to keep it, but it's probably going to cost me a fortune to get it hemmed because they'll have to completely take off the ruffle, hem it then put it back on. Don't get me wrong, the skirt is gorgeous, I just wish they offered custom made lengths at the very least. I understand doing other custom made things like waist or bust could be hard because of the surrounding detail, like laces, or patterns. But it seems like custom made lengths would be an easy thing to offer your customers. Because now as it stands, this skirt will have to just hang in my closet till I have the time & money to get it hemmed, plus finding a skilled tailor that will know how to do it properly. And that's a shame to have such a beautiful skirt "just waiting to be worn."

This skirt is every bit as beautiful as it looks online. I was not dissappointed at all. My heart skipped a beat when I saw myself in it, and heads turned on nearly everyone I passed while wearing it. It is gorgeous. The one and ONLY little problem with it is that it is quite long. Which is wonderful, but also makes wearing it a tad impractical. I am 5'7", with long legs, but there is still a good 2" that puddle on the ground. Most of this was compensated for by a good pair of heels. But just be aware that it is remarkably long. Oh, also, navigating stairs is interesting. But who buys this skirt for practical reasons?? :)

This is a great skirt I liked the black on so much I ordered the gray they fit wonderful and I use mine for cowboy mounted shooting have many complements . Looks great. Use there chart to order sound wrong but its right on.. You'll love it you can do so much with them .... I love mine! You need this!

I love it! It's beautiful and sexy. Just to warn you though, I was skeptical about the color prior to ordering because it looks kind of blue-ish in the photo to me. It's not though, definitely just grey. Also the sizes run a little big (compared to the size chart). I'm 5'9" with a 30-31 inch waist & 42 inch hips. I debated between large/extra large and decided on large. It fits well enough but the top of it is a little loose still.

I'm very curvy (Bust 44", Waist 34", Hips 42") and this fits perfectly! I got the 2X and it fits so well that I wondered if it was tailored for me specifically! I was a little worried when I ordered that the color was going to be a little too blue gray not light gray, but I worried needlessly. Perfect light gray with thin white lines. Black is nice and dark. It's surprisingly light and slick. Overall, absolutely perfect!

This came quickly, sized as promised, and of good quality. It's a wee bit long on me in the back (I choose "petite" sizing when I can get it) but no problem with heels, and the front adjusts from demure to daring with a well-constructed tunnel-ribbon ruching: easy to to and to un-do. It's just perfect as it is -- and would look great in other colors as well!

This skirt is a bit long on me, as I'm only 4'10", but wearing high-heeled boots takes care of that so it isn't a problem. I especially like the adjustable front, allowing me to have several different looks with the same outfit. One of my favorite pieces, as it works well with almost every steampunk themed costume I put together. I'll be wearing this skirt often!
