Love the look, shape and fabric of this blouse. I am a standard small but ordered a med based on reviews. When I first put it on thought it might be too small but by the time I buttoned it up the 6% spandex kicked in and it fit like it was custom made for me. Will be ordering the other colors as well.

I LOVE THIS BLOUSE!! It absolutely exceeded my expectations. The blouse has a silky sheen to it and each button is functional, not decorative. It also came with a matching cravat which I did not expect! This is a great blouse for a Victorian costume but I could see occasions to wear this for business too. The blouse is very tailored so make sure to measure yourself before choosing the correct size. Looking forward to wear this again - thanks!

Love the blouse. It is a nice quality material, not too fitted and love the button detail. It works with my Lorena skirt and my kilt. I would wear this even if not in western garb. Very feminine. Your size guide was spot on.

Excellent quality and fit

After I read the other reviews, I ordered this a bit large. It fit nicely, with the only problem being that it was a bit long in the waist for me (I'm 5' 3" so this is a common problem for me). The thin fabric is actually an advantage in black - there is no show through and it makes a great layering piece. But the real charm of this shirt is how well it goes through the washer and dryer - no shrinkage and it comes out as if it just had a date with the iron.

My body is hard to fit. And I had to order the next size up which fits perfectly for me; with a little give the way I like it. Beautifully made looks and I am very happy with this shirt.

Nice white blouse with pretty lace detail

This beautiful blouse is lined with the scratchiest sleeve heads (to make the sleeves stand out.) They are so abrasive that they made red welts on my shoulders. Fortunately, I was able to cover the raw edge of the sleeve head with some bias tape. Now the blouse is as comfortable as it is beautiful. The fabric is very good quality and in the workmanship other than the sleeve heads is excellent. The fit is mostly as specified. The cuffs on the sleeves are a bit peculiar in that they are cylindrical in shape rather than tapering toward the wrist. I can set over the buttons to make them look right, but the forearm is not cylindrical in shape and the long cuffs should not be either.

This blouse arrived quickly & was packaged well. It's beautiful & I received many compliments when I wore it as part of my Edwardian outfit in a parade. The only reason I had to give it 4 instead of 5 stars is that the stitching inside the shoulders is very scratchy.

I needed a roomier blouse to wear for walking tours. This blouse, though not "authentic" gives the impression, fits well, and is room enough to enjoy wearing it in hot, active situations.

I wore this blouse for an 1894 costume while attending a Victorian Garden Party. It was perfect. The fit was just as expected. It is well-made. If you need a blouse like this, you can't go wrong getting this one.

I love this shirt! The only drawback is that it is 100% cotton, so it requires ironing. (Good for authenticity; not good for regular wear.) It would be nice if some of the clothing had "easy care" fabric-blend options.

This is a beautiful blouse but the fit was off on me. It gapped at the bust& the shoulders were a smidge too small but the sleeves were too long. Again, a lovely, well made blouse but just didn’t fit my athletic body type which is the ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars & not 5.

This blouse was pretty true to size, but did shrink slightly in the cold water wash, which was great for me. The blouse needs to be a bit more fitted, but a few darts will solve the problem, as wearing a corset gives it much more structure and period authenticity. The blouse would be even greater if it was lined, as the material allows the corset to show, so must wear a corset cover. Overall, I love this blouse!

This blouse is very well done. It fit nicely and will easily adapt to a number of looks.

I was amazed at how beautiful this blouset was. The details and workmanship were just wonderful. There were two problems though. I had to get a 2XL based on the measurement chart. I have never been even close to 2XL in my life. I would probably get the 1XL size for a blouse from Historical Emporium next time I order and I will buy again. But this blouse fits fine. I swear that the sleeves were the length of an orangutan's arms. I had to cut 4-5 inches off of them. Luckily I can sew and the sleeves/cuffs were sewn on in such a manner that the sleeve was easily separated from the cuff, sleeve shortened, and sewed back so that you can not tell that the cuff was ever touched. I am 5'6" and have a normal arm length. I think someone who is shorter than I, but still fits the sizing, will have a much bigger problem. Note that I had the same problem, and will be making this same comment, on the Tabitha outfit. I hope HE can correct this sizing problem. I may not always be able to accommodate the construction changes that will probably be necessary. Good thing I sew well, just to lazy to make my own outfits.

This is a marvelous shirt. I am a big girl and have difficulty finding clothing to fit. This is a size 28 and it's as though they used my own measurements to make the shirt. It's comfortable, it's pretty. I also bought one in black. I could wear these for everyday wear, I love them so much

This is a lovely, soft, well made blouse. I read the sizing information and it fit perfectly. It does have a long tail so might not be good for very short ladies, but for me it was perfect. Also bought it in black. These blouses will go well with my Victorian walking skirts.

I am a 6' tall woman and I normally wear a 24 or a 3x. I ordered th 28 and it fits well. It's a little more sheer than I thought it would be bit I have found a camisole that I think will work. I am a Mrs. Claus and I wanted something that would look less cartoonish.

This blouse looks pure white in the picture, but is really ivory (which didn't match my intended skirt). Otherwise, I liked the fit on my slim, flat-chested body. The detached jabot collar doesn't really fit well around the blouse collar, so I probably would never wear it.

Ok, so this Blouse is Absolutely Beautiful BUT, Reading the Reviews didn't help me this time. I guess this Blouse runs really Small for Most people. I normally wear a medium but and was gonna order a Large BUT based on the reviews I Ordered an XL and its too Big. Its not a "sloppy" Big so im keeping it, but had I Known I would have just ordered a Large. So Ladies if youre Not too Overly Heavy Chested then just order one size up. I could have returned this shirt But to me this Clothing shop penalizes customers for returns. I shouldn't have to pay for shipping just for an exchange. Also, this Blouse isn't white white bright like I thought. My mistake I guess. but anyway, shipping was fast and I love the blouse so, I would give it 4 stars.

I love the ruched sleeve blouse. The fabric and workman ship are top notch. However, sadly, I will be returning the blouse. I ordered a size 3X and found that the shoulders were too wide and the waist was too tight. Overall the garment did not fit. I would give the style and fabric 5 stars but the fit only 2 stars.

I am not a re-enactor. I am a lover of history and period clothing, which is why Historical Emporium is such a "gem" for me. The vesta blouse in white meets expectations for a non-cotton blouse. The color is not a bright white, thankfully, the fabric suitable for a polyester--it is not a heavy material and will wear well during warm days. I love that three different looks can be achieved with the jabot and collar. The blouse is easy to iron, a big plus. I used the sizing chart provided, but sized up one and the fit is perfect. Very pleased with the price and quality. I'll wear this often.

The Vista blouse is super cute --- but the sizing is off. Based on reviews, I upped my size to M (38) from my usual Petite Small,(American size 6). That was good. BUT the fitted waist was way, way too tight. Sadly I had to return it -- and I loved the design!

Bought this as part of a saloon entertainer outfit. Love the style and I especially appreciate the short sleeves as performing during the summer in Texas is just plain hot, even indoors. It looks great with my Lydia skirt. Substantial material - way better than costume quality. The sleeve style is delightful as well. Historical Emporium does need a better photo of this black blouse The ruffles and the sleeve details do not show well in the existing photo.

This is a beautiful blouse. Well made, nice fabric, stylish, and true black color. I used the size chart, but for me the fit is a bit tight in the back, which appears, according to the model photos, to be normal for this blouse. It's not uncomfortable, and the front does not pull, it's just tighter than I expected. This will wear well under a vest or underbust corset.

I went to a birthday party and wore a black notch-collared vest and satin, pencil-legged pants. I thought that the Victorian-styled blouse with ruffles at chest and ruffled sleeves would complement the ensemble nicely giving it a vintage and classy look. It did! The item was affordable, arrived right on time, was a comfortable fit and exceeded my expectations.

Fairly thick cotton shirt, nicely designed. Ran a bit small across the chest. Did not keep as sleeves bit bulky to go inside the coat I ordered.

There's definitely some heavy starch used prior to shipping but this blouse fluffs up beautifully after being washed. The cotton is wonderfully thick and holds up well to wear. The neck is a little tighter than I expected but I've been able to make it work. That said, I'm immensely happy with this purchase. It's worth every penny.

The blouse takes a good half hour to,iron. BUT. The result is a garment that thrills me. I wore it to a special event and was (well not the Belle of the Ball) but I received numerous comments as to how attractive I looked. I had on a long pendant with a deep blue stone. In truth? This blouse is a perfect match with my skirt for the encampment dance. It is smooth, but a heavier fabric. Since it fits over the skirt, I don't have to worry about a sash or belt. Lovely piece. I would love to have other colors.

I own this blouse in several colors because it is so nice to wear a Victorian style that does not need to be tucked in and/or added waist cover (gives me an effortless, feminine silhouette). It is made of a thick, durable cotton that is comfortable to wear and even the puffy sleeves hold up very well with repeated machine washings. I'm more of a small size fit but due to the snug forearm/wrist tailoring, I prefer wearing a size medium. Excellent purchase!

I kept this blouse because I generally like the style, but it could definitely be better. According to the sizing chart I would take an XS. I purchased both an XS and S just to compare. Pay attention to the stated cuff measurement and realize that that has to fit over not only your wrist, but entire forearm as well! I have very scrawny arms, and I couldn't fully button the XS. The cut of the collar is also slightly uncomfortable. Although I can fit several fingers between the collar and my neck, it fits so that it kind of chokes in the front and gaps in the back. The body of the blouse fits well on my flat-chested frame. I'm also not looking forward to ironing this.

Quality garment. I am petite size so had to tuck bottom of sleeve under which worked well. I left the top button undone for comfort...but that is just me.

This the perfect all around Victorian white blouse. I bought it because it is simple and elegant. I can add jewelry to embellish. I ordered a size large, even though I normally wear a medium. Having ordered a blouse from this site previously, I knew it tends to run a bit small. I am 5'5", 140 lbs. I love that it doesn't have to be tucked in but still defines the waist area. It is well made with good fabric weight and quality. Wish I didn't have to iron it but guess it's easier than what the Victorians had to go through!

Definitely true to it's picture, the shirt is perfect for the look I'm going for. Unfortunately I'm not built to fit most women's clothing so it doesn't quite fit across my shoulders, or make room for the length of my arms. I'm going to wear it proudly but will have to be careful about raising my arms, lol.

Both the quality and the fit of this blouse are excellent. I am very pleased with my choice.

I love the attention to detail and the fine stitching on this garment. The lacing on either side of the buttons on the front give the bodice just the right shape. The lacing on the back "bustle" gives the shirt the right amount of Victorian flair, but not so much that I wouldn't be able to wear this to work. HOWEVER, the designer obviously doesn't know a thing about how womens' arms! The sleeves on this garment are so narrow my arms felt like sausages when I tried this on! It's such a shame that an otherwise amazing blouse could be ruined by a seemingly minor design flaw. There was not even room for bending elbows. I will absolutely have to send this one back.

Overall a nice top however I wish I would've purchased a more appropriate top for my outfit. I bought the cinch skirt to go with it but this top is not worn tucked in so you couldn't see the details in the skirt. Also, the fit is a little strange. I believe another reviewer stated it being tight across the back. I also had the problem with the v cut neckline cut too low. I had to wear a shirt under it which defeats the purpose.

This looked like a nice and interesting blouse on the screen. But it has odd tucks in the fabric over the shoulder. The line of lace added to the front button holes makes the fabric flip back over the buttons. The banded area of the forearms made it too tight. I am a swimmer but not fat . I felt the added lacing on either side of the front made me look heavier. Over all - not for me, had to return it. You would need to be fairly thin to pull this off. I bought a medium and I usually wear a size 8-10.

I really like the Evangeline Blouse. Very well made, and the ties easy to adjust, look great. It is a bit tight on me -- I ordered the medium, however I think it is running true to size. Would prefer the material to be a bit softer with less sizing, but hopefully that will improve with time. The blouse truly makes my costume!
