I bought two of these. Looker pretty good but a bit dull on the finish. Described as being made of steel a little 600 grit wet/dry paper should fix that right up, right? Nope, the badge is made of copper and plated with "steel" and that plating came right off. Magnet test proved the copper base. That one went in the trash. Be aware of the composition of this product. Other than that I am very satisfied with this badge. I will be leaving the one remaining badge as it was received

The badge is exactly as described, right down to the Mexican peso imprint on the reverse side. It was purchased as a birthday gift for my wife. She totally loves it.

I'm sort of a stickler for details. I'm a history buff, and when I do old west gunfights, I want my outfit to look authentic. Maybe a lot of people don't know that the Ranger badges have been made from a Mexican coin, but I do. I was impressed with the detail on this badge. If it passes my inspection, it will pass most people.

I like the authenticity of the badge and the fact it was made out of medal. Maybe it is me, but the badge seemed small in size and perhaps that was the way it was supposed to be worn to keep from being a target in the Wild West but I would have liked it a little larger in size.

The Deluxe John Bull Top Hat is a well made hat. It is quite stiff and upright as it should be. I only wish the XL size works was a bit more generous.

I love the fit and feel of this hat, and the material is authentic in fit and feel. Be aware that if you're trying to get a traditional top hat, this one's short (which is correct for the style!), much like if you were buying a bowler hat and then made it flat instead of round-topped.

In my Dickens caroling group, I've been using a more generic shaped top hat that was too tall for my overall head and frame shape. This John Bull shape is stylish and just right. It was a bit snug, but I was able to steam it and it stretched right out to fit perfectly!

I plan on wearing the hat with a Regency Tailcoat at this years Dickens on the Strand (Galveston, Texas). It will no doubt fit in well with the other Victorian era outfits at the event.

Such a waste of time and especially money. Didn't read the fine print about returns and extra costs for hat boxes because of their size.... Unbelievable. The return shipping cost $37.15 for a $75.00 hat. Never again. Won't be shopping with you any longer.

Being from Los Angeles area in California, I would not settle for a badge that named a different state or county that I viewed in other sites. I immediately settled with this badge for its look. It didnGÇÖt take long for my package to arrive at my home, (1 full day, since I had ordered the badge in the afternoon, was shipped out the following day, and I received it the very next day) and I was very pleased to find that the badge had a great weight, paint, and authentic feel quality to it. As I looked at virtually all available Texas Ranger badges on the web, it became apparent that none of them were anywhere close to being realistic. First the original was hand made from a Mexican 5 Peso coin. This one was cast metal with a pin soldered on the back. All these badges read "Texas Rangers" with an "s". The original was singular in spelling "Texas Ranger". It spoke of the man, not the organisation. In their defense, it is against the law to make an identical reproduction of a Texas Ranger badge. I wasn't looking for an identical reproduction, I needed a badge to do a show and this filled the bill. Don't expect anything more than a costume piece and particularly at this price.

The safety pin on the back of the badge is junk. There is no spring action. Be careful not to stab yourself when the pin bends.

I ordered two Old West Badge - Texas Ranger Stars which both arrived promptly and were as expected but for the pin on one badge was broken off the back due to a light misaligned weld. I'm sure this is a rarity so I'm giving a 5 star rating just the same. Star/Badges might have been a tad on the small side but the quality and size were as described.

Purchased this for use in an Old West Steampunk cosplay, as well as for some potential CAS matches at some point down the line. The badge is excellent quality, with a nice-looking patina-ed finish and a solid feel. Not flimsy in any way. True, the pin is large and may have an adverse affect on some fabrics, BUT that comes with the territory. The back of the badge did have a dry, sooty black residue on it that I simply wiped away, but be sure to clean it before putting it on anything white! Overall, excellent product and well up to my expectations.

We recieved the sheriffs badge very quickly. It was everything my husband was looking for to go with his costume he wears while passing out ribbons and trophies at our local horse event.

The hat is very elegant. Got lots of complements. Looks good with steampunk goggles on them. However, the hat is not oval (head-shaped) enough. On my head, it binds at the front and back -- which is sort-of good since it has gaps on the left and right, and only only the front/back pressure is holding it on. Even so, it rocks back-and-forth, left-right as my head tilts.

This hat (like most products I find on here) is durable, yet elegant. It's reinforced quite well to retain its shape including the slight "bell" shape the brim has. It's not a bad price as well. I'd recommend it.

Hat size was a little bit bigger than expected. It was much fatter (side to side) than a normal hat, and much shorter (front to back). It fits on my head, but tents to tilt side to side. I expect I could reshape it, but haven't tried to do so yet, so don't know how that would work.

This Double breasted vest is of great quality. It is tube shaped rather than tapered so gives a little more room to breath so to speak. Match your size according to the larger; belly or chest. The 36 fit for my husband who normally wears 34 pants. We paired it with two different shirts, the Virgil and Bellamy for different looks. The quality is wonderful, the customer service was 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend any products from Historical Emporium.

XXL fits larger than expected, but not drastically. Canvas feels durable. Lighter and cooler than expected. Pockets are reasonably sized and useful.

The vest is surprisingly thick and warm, and the stitching is carefully done. The double buttons are not for show but are all functional. The sizing was also perfect. I am more than pleased with the vest, obviously, and it arrived quickly after purchase.

I was underprepared for just how thick and durable this vest was going to be. It really is a thick canvas material and pairs well with canvas trousers for a formal look that is still functional for work. Do not recommend wearing this on a hot day though, it is seriously a thick fabric. The fabric is so thick I struggle to get my US Marshal badge through the fabric for my cosplay XD!

It's a heavier, thicker vest with a straight cut and round bottom. The fit was almost perfect, and I keep getting complimented on it. I may need to find a 'reason' to purchase another.
