Great Duster. I am a good sized guy. I wear 3x in all shirts, coats, etc. I got this duster in 3x. Honestly I am 99% sure the 2X would fit fine. This is roomy, which is great, I can wear it over a shirt and vest with a gunbelt on and it does not bind anywhere. Well made

It's hard to get an idea of what a product is like without actually touching it and seeing the quality for yourself. I can tell you first hand that after I received this I was VERY happy to find that this is no movie prop, flimsy, cheap duster. While this jacket came as described on the website, I did find that it was a bit roomier than expected. I ordered a 3XT and ended up having it tailored with darts to eliminate some of the extra fabric across the chest. I still recommend this jacket, though if in doubt, you can size down for a more tailored fit.

The black duster goes great with the slouch hat as part of the warrior/priest outfit...it is the look I was looking for....thank you.

I have been dying a white cotton duster and am delighted to finally get a black one!

The label says 100% cotton however the material is uncomfortably rough.

I wasnt expecting much but it is very well made. Its a thick canvas and heavy-duty stitching. I put a waterproofing spray befor its first use. I bought the coat one size to big because i wanted it to fit over my body armor. I am an armed security officer.

I can't wait to wear this at an actual event!

Ordered an XL so I could wear a jacket or insulated shirt under it. Generous sleeve length and I have a long wingspan. Heavy denim will protect from the elements to a point. Quality garment at a good price.

As a big person I am always concerned about fit. This was fine, especially through the chest where I have problems - football lineman build. I wouldn't plan on wearing a suit coat underneath it, if you are a bigger person. Good quality garment especially for the price. Not advertised as water-repellent but I think it would stand up to the rain OK - at least the kind of rains we typically get in New Mexico!

The duster is well made. It is warm at night and keeps the wind out. The duster also repells water and in a light rain should do well. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Just would like to start out saying that the service I got from Historical Emporium is outstanding !!! The Duster is perfect for my Western Steampunk gear. Fits just right except the sleeves are a little long, but can take care of that. A coworker seen the Duster and tried it on and loved it also. IT is not too heavy either.... feels just right. For the price..... you can't beat it. Just perfect.

Awesome duster! As a circuit rider, I try not to go for anything too fancy, expensive, or luxurious. So, when I decided to purchase classic black canvas attire, I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a suitable coat. This coat is perfect! Just the right weight, and the quality, fit, and finish are fantastic! It is the perfect finishing touch to my Old West preacher wardrobe. Not too fancy, but at the same time it has a timeless look, style, and feel that make it stand out. It is very comfortable to wear and has a lot of room to move around in. I read reviews about the armpits being high and restrictive, but I have no issues with them at all, and the sleeves were the correct length as well. The fitting and measuring instructions were very accurate. Like all the products I've purchased from HE, I cannot say enough good things about them. Always very surprised and impressed with how much better the items are in person than they are online...and the online pics are pretty awesome! Thank You for another awesome product!

The sleeves have a high tight armpit that doesnt hsve a good fit when moving your arms forward (like driving). The rest of the fit, length, and look are great.

I am rating this 4 stars only because it's heavier than the smock I was looking for. Otherwise, if you ride in a lot of buckboards, its a great canvas duster.

I needed these for a theatre production calling for red, white and blue trench coats. I chose these since the twill material would be the easiest to paint and they were a good price. My only 'eh' was that they are not really white, but more of a dull cream color. But it's a nice, well-made coat with weight without being heavy.

i am 5'10 3/4 i asked for suggested size figuring about a 44 inch chest- about 4 inches for under clothing vest be ok but the arms wish were inch longer and bulkier around the elbows- provided it never shrinks good for late spring early fall- lining not that great sewed in and knew from ordering be too long about 3" too long really- think the stitching be better- now it does have small front pockets fits about 4 of my fingers comfortable and wonder why anyone make coat with such small pocket- then dawned on me they are a perfect size for deck of cards and Dillinger or some small hand gun that 4 fingers could grab hold of and access without fishing around in over sized pockets- i knot sure thats the reason but does seem practical- i do like the coat but for the price idk thats kinda iffy- think if took more stitching and resized the arms yeah but i still questioning the value over cost- but it is an interesting coat and i do like it fact is wore it today- it my take mom to dr's and go to bank kinda coat- but is nice in appearance

Nice coat, well made. Too long though. Would like another button or two down the front. And a way to turn the collar up to close and button around the neck. That might be a different type of coat though.

I have coveted one of these coats for a very long time, and it took a lot of searching to find what I specifically wanted. This fits the bill exactly! You can wear it anywhere and people always comment on cool it looks. I may need another one!

I bought this for my husband and he wore it to a recent show we saw. I has lovely tailoring an a great flow to the cut.

Absolutely loved the Black Rifle Coat. Lightweight, comfortable and great lines. Bought mine at my size as I intend to use it as a coat, not over coat. Will now need to get another one. :) Made the mistake of wearing it to see a musical version of Calamity Jane and upstaging the actor playing Wild Bill Hickok. Love this coat.

The coat came exactly as described. I am of average height (5'9") so it is a little long (I'll take it in to be hemmed). The sizing was exact in that it runs a little large so it can be worn over a dress jacket. Exceptional service by GE. Would definitely do business with them again.

Basic material with simple design.

I bought this Xmas gift for my husband thinking it was like the old LL Bean duster coats. Unfortunately it wasn't at all like those coats. There were about 12 buttons to button to put this on - really impractical. The fabric may have been as described but this was not going to work for my husband.

I bought this brown duster for a western film and it looked great on film. The canvas fabric is quite durable, so i imagine it's just going to get better or look better as it's worn and aged.

I've always loved the look of a coat like this, and I wasn't disappointed when I received mine. As I'm very short it hangs lower on me, but I think that makes it look even better!

I love this coat! It is perfect for California winters and might run a tad bit large, but can easily be adjusted. It took a bit longer to receive than I thought, but it was worth the wait.

This was purchased as a gift, and the recipient was very pleased. Size small fits a young, thin frame well. The shoulders lined up perfectly, but the waist runs rather large for a small coat. This is a very simple fix, though; the buttons on the back-gathering straps can easily be sewn in another place according to one's waist, or the straps can just be tied together for a different look. The quality is superb, especially considering the low price. Highly recommended.

I just got my twill duster and I am very pleased with it. It is made of a medium thickness of cotton and would be a good autumn coat. The detailing (the way it buttons at the back) is excellent and the cut is extremely faithful to the original style coats. The price is excellent for what you get, and I can't wait to wear it.

i wear it a lot while riding, and its very strong. kept me warm enough on a freak wisconsins winter day when the windchill hit -60f (like, -40 standing temp), but im also known to be very cold tolerant so take that with a grain of salt. doesnt look costume-y or cosplay-y, its legit.

This is nice looks great. Just follow the size instructions, DON'T go by your normal jacket size take the time to measure yourself.

This duster is constructed of heavy weight canvas material, it's "real deal" clothing, and clearly not just light weight "costume" stuff. I looks and feels just like I expected and seems more than durable enough for daily wear. I recommend using the sizing charts available to obtain a good fit, they were dead-on for me. This was my second item purchased through this site and I have been very pleased by the quality of both. Great period products and quick customer service. I'll be back.

This "Duster" was of good quality and I'm looking forward to wearing it during "Living History" presentations at our local Museum.

The duster is made of canvas. It fits a little large... But across the shoulders snug. Going to the next size up. Would be way to big. I were a size 42 jacket and orderd the medium. I am not a large medium, just average. So I guess it will be ok. But still a nice duster. And I'll keep it.

This duster looks phenomenal! It washes well. It is rugged. And the price is very reasonable. I needed it for a western themed promo I was shooting. This duster stood up to multiple shooting days still looking as good as the day I unboxed it. It washed without fading and the material did not wrinkle or pill (I did hang dry instead of machine dry). The build quality is great - even the buttons are high quality and sewn on well. I highly recommend this to anyone needing wardrobe for video and film. As for others needing western wear for other ventures, this is rugged enough to stand up to just about anything you could throw at it - well maybe not a direct hit from a bull's horn, but if that happens to you, you have bigger fish to fry than a hole in your outer wear. 5 out of 5, very pleased!

This is a nice basic duster, it's not lined so there isn't much warmth, but layered up it's fine. It is cut very loose, so if you are between sizes, go smaller. I wish I would have ordered a L instead of XL, but I had the sleeves hemmed and it works well

The order came on time , haven't had a chance to wear yet, should of ordered size smaller, but, rolled the sleeve a litttle and all is good.

We are quite satisfied. The material and stitching are adequate and the sizing is good. It hangs on me very well. I hand washed it in the utility sink and hung it to drip dry. Didn't want to run it through the machines before I even wore it once. Even though I now think it's tough enough to handle a wash and tumble dry, I'll still be hand washing it just to be safe. I paired it with the Floyd Side-Button Shirt and a derby and am pleased with the look. It's good when the clothes look and feel properly made and fit well enough to be comfortable all day. TeslaCon here we come.
