I liked the look of this vest in the photo, but it's designed to be worn with high-waisted pants of the period - it's VERY short waisted. If you wear it with regular pants you'll have a big gap between the bottom of the vest and your belt with shirt showing all around. Not the look I was hoping for. If I reorder I'll be sticking to the vests with a pointed waist instead of straight waist - it's a better line. I didn't keep the vest. I'd recommend looking in the TALL vests if you're going to wear it with contemporary clothing. This vest wasn't made particularly well either - the shoulders were not even from one side to the other and it stood up on the shoulder making a gap between the shirt and vest. It's also very narrow at the shoulder - the yoke is small - straight up or even slightly smaller from the bottom of the armseye to the top - this gives the person wearing it a narrow shouldered look which doesn't enhance most male silhouettes.

I bought these for use in a stage production set in 1813. They look great, but... These glasses are much smaller than the photo makes them look. That must be a very tiny head on the mannequin in the picture. The frames measure 100 mm or 4 inches from temple to temple - that's the size of a child's eyeglass frame. An average frame for an adult male would be 4 1/2 to 5 inches across - 120 mm or more. The temples (bows) are a little on the short side too - these will need a little creative bending to make them fit around an actual adult's head - the good news is that they're steel so that's possible. The lenses are 35mm across and 27 mm high. Again very small. Don't get me wrong - they're a pretty good deal for $12.95, and their size sort of adds to their antique look. The figure-eight bridge looks very old fashioned, just know that there is no bridge piece or pads the wire rests right on the bridge of your nose.

I have loved every purchase I've made from Historical Emporium. I own a gorgeous overcoat, a vest or two and a pile of shoes -- the latter being the main thing that drew me to the site and has kept me coming back. Unfortunately, these particular boots have not delighted me the way my previous three shoe purchases have done, and for just one simple reason: CREAKING! These are the creakiest shoes I've ever owned, to the point where I don't dare wear them to work in my VERY quiet open-bay office. You can hear the creaking from halfway across the cube maze. I need to look into a way to reduce the creaking noise -- I know simply wearing them will help, breaking them in, but is there anything Historical Emporium can recommend to help speed up the process? A kind of oil or wax to rub in and improve the give? Don't get me wrong -- they're gorgeous boots. But this issue really has been disappointing, and next time I'll stick to buying more of the kind I purchased previously, which don't have this problem. Thanks -- I am still a big fan!

TH BELT IS WELL MADE AND FITS WELL. OPTIONS TO ADJUST WITH SEVERAL BUTTONS IS A PLUS.

Measuring directions caused us to order a holster (belt) that was much too big (long). Also the holster size seem sloppily big for the sleek colt 45. We returned the oversized holster and reordered a smaller waist size. If the holster seems too loose for the pistol, we will be disappointed. We have not received the reorder yet. Thanks for asking.

I bought their holster for an actual antique SAA Colt. Just wanted a cool holster for backyard shooting and it's perfect for that. Leather a little stiff but flexing it helped. I ordered a double after I received the single. For three times the money I could have got better but I'll put that money into ammo.

This dress is amazing in quality and material and looks. However, I think women who wore this kind of dress must have worn a corset. Shoulders fine and bustline fine. From below my bra to the waist, it was really tight. A larger size would have been too big everywhere else.

Exactly what I wanted. Sturdy, dark brown leather. I've "grown" to a size 38 waist. I ordered size 44 which fits fine, buckled one hole from the tightest hole. I could have worn the size 42 I'm sure. My Uberti 1873 Cattleman .45 colt, 5.5 inch barrel fits the holster perfectly. Thanks, Historical Emporium!

It quickly became a Chewbacca costume after I opened the package, but it was to be expected with a dog in the house. Overall, I'm very satisfied, the fabric is great, and it is comfortable to wear. Also, for future buyers, I'd suggest you plan to get it tailored, unless you are straight as a log... or plan to give your beloved log a gift. It is supposed to be tight at the waist and not open up like a umbrella on the back. (Looking at the pictures, no one fixed it to their size, I'm sad.) My only complaint is that the sleeves doesn't have any buttons, but it isn't dramatic. Even if I ended up paying almost $200 for customs fee (I have no idea what happened over here.), it still saves money on a coat from a luxurious brand; it is really worth it. PS. The back goes down to behind the knees for me, and I am 6 feet tall. For the sleeves, unless your arms are abnormally long, it should fit properly. Hope it helps!

I ordered a vest that was to have a chest size of 46 2 vest latter I still did not have a vest that fit. Due to my Canadian address I have given up the quest for this vest and am forced to give away the ones that i received.

This hat is certainly attractive and elegant, and the fit is accurate to my measured size. I have a lot of brown-ish clothes, so it is really nice to have a derby (or bowler here in Canada) in a colour other than black! I took off one star in my rating because the interior sweatband is some kind of artificial leather that gets rather uncomfortable if worn for long periods... a bit sticky. I guess it does have the virtue of being easy to clean. But I would happily buy this hat again. Thanks Historical Emporium!
