The hat delivered was fine if you are under 21. It is a big floppy showboat. Not at all like the sophisticated hat that was pictured on the gentleman in the ad. The hat is of good quality but i don't like it and feel silly wearing it. I am too old to haggle with customer service and returns. I thought that I was buying a Kangol style tweed cap and instead received costume material for a production of Guys and Dolls. Sorry to be mean but you asked.

I portray several Chautauqua characters for history groups and I am a member of an amateur theater company in Northern California and this is an excellent hat for both affiliations. As it is waterproof I will also wear it to inaugurations and other formal daytime outside events. The hat fits well, holds its shape, is crushable and therefore packs easily for travel. I'm pleased with this purchase and have enjoyed being a customer of Historic Emporium for a number of years.

The website was easy to navigate and there are a lot of helpful photos of the items. However, I wasn't 100 percent sure if a specific garment would be a good fit based on the general descriptions. Since I am petite, that is a concern, because the sleeve length, shoulder width, and length from shoulder torso can be problematic. Fortunately, the sizing of the blouse I ordered was good fit for me. The skirt I ordered was a good fit too; the waist measurement was exactly as specified.

Exactly the holster I needed for my 1860 Army percussion I use for period history dress. Well made heavy leather holster. Should last me a long time. Will be ordering the Powder Belt to hang this holster on for even more realistic arms presentation.

I am a volunteer at a Railroad museum and like to dress the part of an old railroader, historic emporium has a lot to choose from and the clothing items are very nice. it has been a pleaser doing business with them. I order something that was a bit to heavy to where and I called them was able to return the item and reordered the right thing over the phone in just a couple of minutes. I would recommend this store to anyone looking to dress the part of someone in the past.

I got my order on time, and the product is exactly what I wanted. Very comfortable! As always, make sure you read all the info regarding the sizing so you don't have to exchange it anything. I purchased this pair of pants for my Malcom Reynolds (Firefly) cosplay at Denver Pop Culture Con 2019, and cannot wait to try it out! Thank you Historical Emporium!! Sidenote for any other cosplayers going as Malcom Reynolds....It does not have Mal's signature stripe down the pant legs, so you will have to sew it on yourselves. This is not a complaint, but something to take note of.

Belt sizing is a problem

After reading other reviews about proper sizing for the pistol/cartridge belt I ordered the belt two sizes larger than what I had measured. I tried the belt on after receiving it and it was still too small. Also, the belt was made for .38/.357 cartridges however, when I put rounds into the loops, they were very loose and fall out if the belt is turned upside down. Overall, for the price of the belt, I was not very happy with my purchase.

Beautiful blouse; very well-made

The blouse is well-made and finished off nicely on the inside. The fabric is soft but not flimsy, making it comfortable to wear. The I am five-foot-one, so was concerned about the sleeve length and shoulder width, but the blouse fits well, so I won't need to make any alterations to it. The height of the collar is a bit higher than any other blouse I have, but it doesn't touch the bottom of my chin. The bodice is longer than other blouses I usually wear, but since I am going to be tucking it inside my skirt, that isn't going to be a problem. Based on the fabric used and the quality of the finished product, the price is reasonable, compared to other blouses you would buy at a department store. Even though the blouse was special ordered, I received it many days sooner than the promised delivery date.

Fantastic hat!

The hat was exactly as described and pictured. Sizing was spot on with the help of the sizing chart. I bought a care kit and a leather hat band to spruce it up a little bit and it's perfect. Now I wear it every day, especially when I head out to the barn.
