The shirt is nice and roomy and soft, soft enough to wear in the summer. Had to get larger than I would normally wear so I could button the top button, had it tailored, all good........

I purchased the set for a Elks (B.P.O.E.) Childrens Carity Ball in March '24. I will be wearing the set with a black 3 piece suit and black tuxedo shirt.

Well constructed with the exception of the buttons; filmsy, silver paint coated plastic doesn't stand up to the heft of the tapestry. Every buttoning/unbuttoning is approached with trepidation, anticipating one popping off in the process. Having said this, the entire piece is constructed with the tapestry fabric, that corners weren't cut by substituting the back panel with chintzy satin.

We attend the Great Dickens Faire in the San Francisco Bay area every year since 2007, with the exception of, well you know, Covid. And my husband had decided that he would like a new pair of pants so he could change up his regular outfit. Coincidentally, doing some googling, we found Historical Emporium. Even more of a coincidence it was about 45 minutes from where we currently were, in the bay area. So we called to see if we could by chance get these pants by picking them up. And the answer was yes. The most amazing customer service I think we have ever had. Not only did they take the time to make sure that this was the right pair of pants. But I think they even stayed a little bit past lunch. It was the perfect bit of finery for the festive occasion - especially after taking off my coat since it was pretty warm inside.

I have been building my mid-1800s wardrobe recently and this was a fantastic addition. I wore it recently to the British American Business Association's Christmas lunch (along with the Buckingham vest and Excelsior dress shirt, plus a cravat that I made, and top hat and cane purchased at the San Francisco Dickens Faire). It was a HUGE hit! It was my first 'full outfit' foray in public and I felt so comfy and confident. Woo hoo!

My battery - powered pocket watch quit working after several decades' service. I was hoping to find a wind-up watch of ( at least) similar quality. This watch is even better quality and is very aesthetically wonderful as well !
