I bought this for wear in my job at a college. I wear it over jeans and docker-type slacks and an oxford pinpoint shirt. It looks good, not too casual. The material is substantial, the sewing is well done. I'm 5'10, 205 pounds. Had to buy the XL because my stomach is kinda big, and then went with the XLT (3" longer) because I conceal carry. My small gun is covered by my tucked in shirt and the vest breaks up any 'bump' from the grip. I washed in warm and dried on warm (not hot) and it shrank just a bit which made this fit about perfect. Very happy and I'm sure I'll get another color.

This vest looked sharp, and fit very well. Ordered a XLT, and was grateful for the nice selection of Tall sizes.

I bought two suits from you and both were exceptional quality. My main purchase was this suit as I required it for our 'Goodwood Revival' motor racing event, where period clothing is a must. The fit and quality of these suits is superb. The unfinished legs allowed me to have them altered to my own preference too. To anyone in the UK who is contemplating buying from the Emporium, I would urge them to go ahead, making sure that they send the correct measurements of course. The clothing is superb and worth checking out.

Having searched for quality period clothing in the UK, I came across your web site. I was taking a risk ordering without seeing I figured but the items I wanted were listed and the prices were excellent. I was however beyond pleased when the suits arrived. The quality of the cut and fabric is superb. The linings are of the highest quality and the service was beyond my expectations. I would just add for any UK buyers reading that there will be a lot of import and VAT to pay on these items, however when compared to a good suit on the High Street here, these items were still exceptional value for money. I would not hesitate to order again should the need arise.

I am sorry to hear that these trousers are being clearanced out. However, it did make them noce and cheap. I have had these before and was very pleased with my first pair, and so far am just as pleased with my second pair. The quality feels very luxurious, like fine woolen trousers from a $1500 suit.

I bought the matching frock coat about a year ago, and just got the trousers for the coming school year. I was worried that the pants would pill and wear quickly since they are not wool, and because I have had that happen in the past, but there was no such misfortune. The fabric is soft, holds a crease for a long time, and is quite sturdy without being stiff.

The pullover style of this shirt throws the historical accuracy onto another level. The collar height (just below my ears) is perfect and as I ordered a bit larger than my size, I anticipate that any shrinkage from washing will not be a problem. Especially nice that it has the convertible cuffs and placket!

This is the best holster I have purchased. If I were to get another one, I would order the exact size in the belt I wear with my pants. I wear a 40 belt and I ordered a 44 holster. I have the buckle on the last hole and it will set on my hips. If you order your correct size, I thing the belt loop hole would be in the middle of the holster belt holes. All in all, it is a fantastic purchase and I will buy again!!! It is perfect

What the title says. Maybe it's the shape of my head but compared to the "John Bull" the fit is snug without pinching from the back, to my forehead. Also not quite as hot as the John Bull. I like the leopard skin interior as well. I don't need the interior adjustment strap but I can see it would help the fit if your head was a bit small for the general size of the hat. I love the color. I would probably get another if this one wears out or gets damaged somehow.

The coat is amazing! The quality of the product would definitely get me to order from here again.

Have been shopping for a ladies top hat and this, though in the men's section, is a fine enough finish for my use. It is a heavy weight and has nice interior finish details. Would love it in velvet or satin if you are wondering where to branch out! This is a very nice looking parasol, though it should be noted that it is not very wide, so would do for shading the face, but probably not the shoulders if you're actually using it in the sun. It appears to be relatively well made, with a nice little flower detail at the tip. It does have one large flaw however. While it stays up nicely, when you put it down, there is nothing to keep it folded and it flops open again, at least partly. I didn't drop a star, because it is nice looking, does have a nice long handle so can double as a walking stick (gently, so as not to damage the tip) but you will need to put a tie of some sort around it to hold it shut. Other than that, and perhaps it's width, I would recommend it.

This really is a nice hat, quite well constructed, looks very much more expensive than it actually is. The felt looks good and the interior is nicely lined as a good men's hat would be. There is a small drawstring to tighten the fit if necessary. I don't need it, as it fits over my hair nicely, but it looks like it would probably work. I don't think it mentioned in the ad that the under side of the brim is covered in black lace, a very nice touch. This hat would do nicely with a variety of decoration as a very nice wearing hat beyond the level of a simple costume. I am very pleasantly surprised. You won't be disappointed in this one!

As expected, the trousers arrived in need of tailoring. In order to get a size to fit my belly, I had to order a much larger pair of trousers. My tailor took over 7" off the cuff and took in in 1 1/2' on the leg seams. Not sure how much was taken in on the butt, but probably close to 1 to 2''s also. I truly like having a purveyor of period clothing to order from. My interests range from early Civil War to the Edwardian era so Historical Emporium fits the bill. Thank you for providing those of us in need with the proper clothing. Someone else mentioned the buttons. Yes, they are not sewn on as good as they should be. I automatically reinforce them.

Debated over several frock coats but this was the right one. Like everything about it. A nice blend of materials gives it a good dress look, but still feels light weight enough for daytime wear and warm weather use. The sleeves were too long and had to be shortened, but the rest of the coat was good. Really like it. I have had very good purchases from Historical emporium. Glad to have them around.
