Although this vest is mostly brown and tan, pale red seems to be the most noticeable color. There are also some narrow stripes of blue-green. The colors of the canvas-like material appear slightly less bright and more weathered than the online photo shows. This gives the impression of a garment that you've owned for years. I wore this under a yellow-tan jacket and two people complimented me on the vest even though most of it was hidden. The workmanship seems good. I do, however, have one very minor issue. It's nice to have four pockets, but the welts (I think that's the term) of each pocket use the same material at a 90-degree angle to the vertical pattern. I understand that this is standard tailoring procedure, but it can make the vest look a bit confusing at close range given the strong stripe pattern.

Great spats! Fit perfectly but what surprised me the most was the quality of materials used. Very impressed and will be buying more clothing from this site!

The overall color is light grayish blue and the checks are less than 1/8" each. The weave is slightly rough. It may not have the most exciting design, but it fits me well and seems well made.

This suit is perfect, exactly what I needed and wanted. As it was the first time I'd ordered something like this I was apprehensive about fit and style but it is exactly right and fits my actor perfectly. That great, loud sigh of relief you heard? That was me. I was ordering for a man of substantial stature and was unsure if the parts would all fit the whole, but they are all just right, and I learned a few things about ordering men's suits along the way.

I didn't see a description of size so I purchased these glasses on a hope that maybe they were a little big. The opposite happened, they seem to be smaller than even a regular pair of sunglasses. Everything about them is great other than the size.

Just got my Humboldt vest, this is a very well made and sharp-looking vest. Nice heavy material, in a dark slate blue/grey, with pleasing stripes. This one does run slightly large - I ordered a XXL, and have a 50" chest and stand 6'2". There is definitely room in the chest, and more in the waist, so order your natural size at the most. Would definitely recommend this vest.

This coat... is marvelous. It is very comfortable and of a high quality build, and looks /incredible/. A regular head turner! The pockets are deeper than expected (I didn't expect much), and very conveniently placed! My only gripe are that the buttons are not very well attached, so I reinforced them myself. The buttons themselves are very good, however, just weakly attached. Overall, an awesome coat that I'd happily order again!

i saw 5 years ago on the internet the historical emporium page, iwas really impressed,the clothing are very nice, very well made respecting theVictorian era.........ipersonally wear just the cotton vests, because iwear denim every day, but those vest are very well made, excellent cut .fabric and so on........even with denim those vests look totally togheter with jeans, cusual but elegant!!!!!i hope more man they will start to wear vests again like in the past...when the man's were elegant!!!!!!

To be honest I was a little bit afraid to purchase because I thought it might be just some old western replicas for costumes or something. But they turned out to be everything I hoped for. The quality and the workmanship were as good as any leather shop I had been in and looked at and the price was better. Now so you understand what I mean about where I have been and the shops that I have looked in have been every gun shop in southern to northern Utah and Arizona and California and Mexico. Everywhere I went hey had exactly the same quality and workmanship but nobody had the double holster only the single and their price was a fair bit more. I thought I would get a good price in Mexico doing some haggling but to no avail they were more money and only the single holster. That's right the single everywhere else was more expensive than this double, crazy I know. So I am pleased to say that I am pleased with my purchase both of them and I will be purchasing from you again. Thanks GM Washington Utah

I purchased this vest for my husband as a Christmas gift. When I took it out of the packaging, my first impulse was to call and ask why they had sent me a black vest when I ordered a green one. They didn't. The green velvet this vest is made from is so dark that unless you are looking at it in natural light (I had to take it to the sunlit window before I saw that it was, in fact, green) it looks black. If that's OK with you, then you'll love it. If you want something that clearly reads "green", you'll be happier with a different choice.

I'm a big guy, 6', 275#. I got the 2XLT Black Canvas Work Vest. This is my first vest. Fits great, looks great, great quality, and fast shipping in the bargain. Not really "dressy," but it's great at dressing up a pair of jeans or slacks. Based on this purchase, it won't be my last.

I saw that this vest is going to be discontinued. I'm glad I got one of the last ones. This vest is awesome. Got a lot of compliments. Couldn't be happier with how it looked in person. Picture doesn't do it justice.

I have about 8 vests I got from here and all have been great, but this might just be my favorite. The quality and fit couldn't be better.

This item is obviously meant for special occasions. The heavy material, with its alternating stripes of nappy and subtly patterned weaves, looks regal and rich. The nap creates an iridescent effect based on how the light hits it. The vertical stripe pattern didn't perfectly match, however, though not badly enough to harm the overall effect. To me the accuracy of such pattern matching indicates quality. The buttons are of a highly patterned design. The fit is a bit snug, which surprised me because other vests in that size fit well. Maybe this is caused by the thickness of the material.

The color was not what I expected. Although called "sage," the tone is so subtle that you can be forgiven for believing it's a warmish brown formed by a combination of dull tan and black threads. It probably looks different in indoor and outdoor lighting. That does not mean the vest is drab. The herringbone pattern is livened by tiny flecks of burgundy, yellow-green, bright red, yellow, orange, and pale blue-green. Others won't notice these, however, unless you're in a one-to-one or small group situation. You might use these flecks as guides to coordinating shirt and tie combinations. The workmanship, sizing, and fit are good. I would have liked a breast pocket in addition to the two watch pockets, but that's certainly not a defect. Overall, though, this is a good choice if you want something a bit unusual but don't want to stand out too much. In my opinion it's well worth the price.

Great! for Men with a smaller foot.. Calf Length Socks are really hard to find.. and these are very nice! but if you wear a size 11 or more shoe, these socks will not go over your calf. would be great if they also came in larger sizes. These are silky, somewhat sheer if stretched all the way. Very nice to go with knickers or under snug dress shoes with spats. They do not have the bulky weight of regular socks.

Handsome design. Beautifully Made. Softest Material. Quality Construction & Stitching. Tightening tab on back of trousers adds to both look and function. These are High waisted pants, do follow instructions for using belly measurement, vs. waist measurement. They are also very long in the legs. which is no problem what so ever if you can hem them. I got them for my husband for Christmas. He is 6 foot 3 inches tall and normally takes and 36-38 waist. I had to go up a size in the waist from (Large to XL) and down a size in the leg length. once done, perfection. I add this to the review because if your get your sizing correct you will be Very happy with your order! Love these pants. look and feel amazing.
