I will wear it at the DAR house, Lewes, Delaware. We just completed a renovation of our 1890 kitchen. This will be the perfect outfit as a hostess.

Super look. Slimming fit. Note, this is the same Frontier Classics coat sold elsewhere as a "Tombstone Coat". Seems well constructed overall. But, one issue I see is there tends to be a funny crease at the shoulder padding in the front of the shoulder area. Perhaps needs different pad, or something? I appreciate Historical Emporium offering the long sizes for those of us with long arms. Other websites do not even mention that long size is available.

Fabric is a bit light which maybe affects the lay of the trousers slightly. Other than that, they fit great and seem to be well constructed. Beware that you must measure your "waist" around the belly button for a proper fit.

I bought this hat for my wife's birthday to top off a suffragette impression she is building. She hasn't seen it yet, but it's impressive - black net over a black fabric base, lined in red satin. It has appropriate trims, including black ribbon, a small black ostrich plume, and black silk flowers. It could easliy be trimmed even more, but it's good to wear out of the box. It's appropriately large for the Edwardian period. All in all, a very nice hat!

I must say, I was suspicious about the fit. Nothing ever fits my husband perfectly. He pulled these on and they were perfect, other than the length. But being a seamstress, I had no problem cutting off the bottom 6 inches and hemming them.

These people at the emporium get better and better the more business we conduct and I wonder how that can be accomplished. This is going to, "make my day" as Harry might quip and... more than one day. It fits very well. It compliments my brown tweed vest, pants, and spats, all purchased right here. I'll be wearing this particular ensemble at some fall and early winter events where I'm a vendor. Of course they're going to get some pictures entering me into their contest. Check 'em out!

Needed a holster for my working gun, a .45 LC River Vaquero. This is a good, solid product with everything I needed to protect my tool and be able to clear leather when necessary.

I usually sew my own clothes but it was delightful to have someone else sew for me. The fit was perfect... I am tall and it's just the right length . Thank you! .l

These are fine. They do what they are supposed to do, but are a bit finicky to work with. My main complaint is that one stud should be longer than the other to be able to fit through the 4 layers of fabric on the front of the collar. As designed, these have just barely enough space to make it fit.

Although I'm average height (5'10"), I got these shorter suspenders because on period correct high-waisted pants, regular suspenders are too long and the metal bits either come up or over your shoulder or they need to be shortened. These fit just right.

Well constructed, fits true to size, and a natural breathability to the cotton material. 10/10 would recommend!

The watch is very nice, even though it is very simple in design. I have yet to find out how to get the back open to replace the battery, for when I need to, but I am just getting used to the pocket watch. It was a little smaller than I expected, but it finished out my outfit nicely.

Since the shirts are one sleeve length, these are a must have to keep the sleeves in place. If I did not have these, my french cuff shirt would have looked sloppy at my event.

I live in a resort area and donning this skirt (cornflower blue) and with a white blouse with some simple jewelry and a wide brimmed straw hat is the perfect way to be stylish yet comfortable. I recently purchased the Rebecca Regency Dress to wear as a day dress for the upcoming Jane Austen Festival in September, and I couldn't be happier with my choice! I purchased this bathing suit as part of an outfit for a Christmas in July event. It appears to be fairly well-made, although the stripes on either side of the pants do not line up. Fortunately, the shirt is long enough to cover most of it. The bathing suit also rides a bit low in the back, so I had to be careful not to "crack" up (HoHoHo).

I purchased the vest for my wild west reenactment wardrobe. It matches the material and color of a pair of pants I ordered previously from your company. The vest appears to be very high quality and should last for years, only looking better the more I wear it. I was pleasantly surprised to find it had an inside pocket along with the four on the front.The fact it's made of cotton means you can launder it yourself. Just make sure you line dry it. don't dry it in the dryer.

Had to but 44 inch belt ( out of stock on 42), and little loose, I suggest added a care and conditioning pamphlet with the order - oiling leather, fitting holster to your gun, etc. Would be helpful, plus shows your team cares about long term use and client loyalty- maybe even adding leather oil to your product line, or even better, include a small sample bottle with each order.

This Edwardian-style suit is a bargain at this price. It's well made with a nice hand and worked perfectly for my role as Simon Stimson in Our Town (The play takes place around 1910.) I received many compliments from my fellow cast members on it.

I'm building a small 1800's wardrobe. This is not my first purchase from the emporium nor my last. Commenting on this same subject before, I reiterate the ease, and accommodation, resolving size issues that invariably occur with clothing impossible to try on before purchasing, that makes these people a pleasure to deal with. I'd purchased a different style of vest at an earlier date in a specific size that fit great. This particular vest was purchased in the same size. It was too small. Both vests were satisfactory in quality most acceptable. They were NOT the same brand and NOT manufactured in even the same country of origin. This issue is unavoidable regardless of vendor choice. This happens. Not only was the item exchanged quickly but I paid no shipping for the exchange. That's damn good service in anyone's language!

Certain times and events call for an assortment in wardrobe selections. Even era specific attire for the aficionado must be of varied content. This particular shirt with emphasis on the high collar as well as the bib chest is a great addition to one's collection. The high collar is still within comfort height for fashionable Victorian Era dinners and evening attire with just enough accent to, "get noticed and noted". No collection of any caliber should be without an all around dress shirt that is comfortable and fits very well. "Please pase th'jelly!" EGAD!

As most gentlemen will acknowledge, there are various and sundry times when one's authentic and expensive jewelry collection is simply NOT appropriate to wear. It may depend upon the location and/or the attendees at some function as well as the perspective of the person wearing said enhancements. Imagine losing your $10,000 solid gold with diamond collar stud while frolicking at a bonfire. Simply dreadful!

Here's a shirt with the ability to morph into different aspects and appearances utilizing the ability to apply various collars pending whim and purpose. The term, "Chameleon Like", is certainly applicable. It's a decently built shirt for the era conscious aficionado who for certain times, and occasions, wishes to access different perspectives in wardrobe. Mine fits perfectly!

Historical Emporium really is a great place to shop for those who like the dress common to earlier times and fashions. This collar represents that period in history plus being of a sturdier quality, will wear better and hold up longer than any that are not reinforced. It all depends upon usage. Are you wearing the collar for a one time occasion or more times on several shirts?

Indeed, as of this writing there has not been an, "occasion". Having corrected this presumption, I propose to get on with the review... Redundancy is not my intent but as stated in the title, the key word here is, "reinforced". The collar itself may adorn any number of shirts on any number of that earlier word, now pluralized, "occasions". A collar of such an obviously classical specimen elevated to enhance the attire must be created with substance as well as being aesthetically complimentary to one's costume. This particularly handsome example fills both requirements very well and should certainly be considered for purchase.

I'm an 1830s western fur trade interpreter. I thought about making my own but had a hard time finding period webbing like this, so I just opted for the ready-made.

Traveled a 20 hour drive from VA to OK to see my great great great grand aunt's historic museum (May Lillie). Attended the Pawnee Bill Wild West Show on June 14th. Waved to the crowd from a stage coach for the show. Felt like a star.

The fit was a little tight and the strap on the back of the pants came undone when I bent over. I took the pants to a tailor and they fixed them right up but now I'm very happy. I probably could've done a better job with the sizing but I need a 33 not the available sizes of 32 (ordered). and 34. I think that some better quality assurance would've gone the fact that the strap in the back was really not securely sewn in the first place [on one side]. Overall, I'm happy and I will be using these when I play in my band.

Open house at Nordica Homestead Museum in Farmington,Maine. Open since 1928. This is ideal for daytime wear. It's comfortable. Easy to launder and looks great.. Of course you need a nice cotton petticoat underneath to make it hang correctly on the body.

Just what I was looking for cotton (breathable), high-wasted, comfortable. They look darling under my short Selkie dresses and I also just lounge around in them. Will likely order a backup pair. Also shipped fast.

The cut and pattern you can see in the photos, however this waistcoat begs to be touched. It's nice and thick and is rather fancy. I normally prefer 4 pockets, but that is a small compromise I am happy to make. The buttons are a nice accent too.

Perfect fit! Over the years, I have many jackets/coats/suits of all different quality from 100% wool to 100% plastic and all points in between. This is one of my favorites! I am used to more pockets so that takes a bit of adjustment, but I do feel that hip pockets would have ruined the look of this coat so I'm not complaining. (besides it DOES have the tobacco pocket) The vent goes up high enough that when you sit, you don't have sit on the coat itself. I will likely buy more in other colors.

I purchased this top hat for more or less everyday wear, as I have to walk with a cane (your silver tone skull cane, in fact), and I may as well look stylish while doing so. The top hat rests very well on my head. It fits as sized. I added a few feathers to the band, and I have received several compliments when I have worn this top hat with my kilt and cane.

Okay... They fit well and are exactly as described. Other than to try them on, I've not worn them. I'm waiting until I can afford to purchase the rest of my chosen ensemble and the choice is an autumn and winter outfit. When I've received the entire collection, I'll most certainly send a picture. Boots were everything we hoped for and were received very quickly! Person receiving boots were estatic and will be wearing them to Gettysburg, PA for a trade show. The 1860 style leather riding boots were a milestone birthday gift for a family member who does living history of an 1860 chaplain. We couldn't be happier! He will wear them in Gettysburg, PA. In July!

This coat is very well made, and though not as heavy as one that is 100% wool, 25% provides an appropriate heft. The coat is perfect in every way except that I should have probably ordered a small instead of a M/L. A size large is usually what I wear, so this is what I ordered especially because "medium" was part of the description, but I should have paid more attention to the size chart. Based on the numbers presented there, a small was the recommended size. Oh well -- I'll just have to wear a vest as well as a suit coat underneath.

I wear stylish hats while performing with our band 2nd Chance Ukulele Band. I wore it last night for our performance at Orange Bike Brewery in Portland Maine. It was just what I was looking for. It's perfect. No complaints.

I play for Regency dancers and am asked to appear in period costume for balls. This dress is beautifully made, with attention to detail, and the sizing was accurate. The fabric is of good quality. There is plenty of material at the bottom of the dress to allow for various hemming options. I would advise keeping the leftover fabric for possible future use. It's a machined hem so hemming can be done by machine rather than by hand. I am happy with the zipped back closing as it is easier to change in and out of (and with these dresses you often need help), but some people might prefer buttons, in keeping with the period. You can always cover up the zip with a shawl. The sleeves are generous, so easy to play in. Bodice is generous, with ties to get an exact fit. A thoughtfully made dress.

I purchased my Western outfit for a 60/40 Birthday Party/Anniversary Party, and I was very distinguished, and received a compliments, and pictures!!!

My son works a summer job that includes working hard outdoors while wearing period accurate clothing. He loves this shirt. We've been happy with all of our purchases from Historical Emporium and will be using them for more clothing that is more than a costume - it has to live up to being worn and worked in.

We have a western city here in Austria in Groß Petersdorf called Lucky Town. It is open on Mondays June - August. There is live music and line dancers, spare ribs and whiskey. When its very hot I will wear the day dress.

Greetings; This I bought for a gift to a friend, who will never know the flaws to this vest. It is built like 'two shirts sewn together'. There is NO structure behind the two layers of THIN fabrick. I would not recommend wearing this item to 'someplace special'. There are still folks who "know whereof" and will spot a stage costume over a true made vest-always. Very much like the color. Much too long, of course, but I had to order for the waist measurement and length can be adjusted. Also like that it arrived quickly.

no matter what outfit you are wearing. A couple of years ago I decided to wear suspenders rather than keep tightening my belts. Vests are perfect to cover suspenders. Historical Emporium has the best selection of well made, good looking vests I could find, and I checked out almost every site on the Web. The service is terrific and the shipping is beyond speedy. One coat that I ordered was a little too heavy for my likes and, even though it had been a special order, there was no quibble from Historical Emporium about my returning it. I will continue to check out their period clothing and plan to keep purchasing from them whenever I need more. They are worth a try!

Of course these canvas trousers will hold up. Look good high waisted. Problem is my mid section is a tad larger than I thought. And need to exchange them.

The large was more comfortable in the chest, but I needed the length hemmed by about two inches, and the sleeves shortened as they went past my wrist and were too wide. The red was tighter in the chest but not uncomfortable, and the sleeves came right to my wrist (perfect!), and length was just high enough above the ground to keep from getting dirty when I walked --which was was perfect for me So I wore the red for my event and let another slightly taller woman in my group borrow the green one. Love the pockets which are hidden in a side seam. Fit my larger Pixel 9 phone perfectly. I wore a small classic cotton petticoat underneath (it was the same length as the medium petticoat) and there was a LOT of room (almost enough to fit in another person) so there were plenty of ruffes when you pull the drawstring closed. Shipping was fast!

I ordered a twill ladies apron for an event at Fort Nisqually, WA where period dress was required. I am 5'1 and while the overall length was okay (it reached the bottom of my dress), but the bib was too wide and too tall to sit well on me. If I tied the strings around my neck, the bib would not lie flat but would stick out in the middle. I am 5'1", 150 pound, chest 39", waist 37", hips 42." Gave it four stars though because it was well made, would likely fit someone taller and wide, and shipping was quick.

Perfect for wearing on top of either the green or red pioneer dress. I am only 5'1' and it was the perfect length (above six inches below my knees). I love that it has pockets to store my keys an some cash. Pockets dimensions are 7" deep and 6" wide. However, I was afraid that the top of my quite definitely NOT non-period phone would be visible if anyone glanced down at it, so i kept that in the pockets of my Cordelia dress underneath.

I wore this wore a pioneer event even though it was a bit too large for my head. There was plenty of space under the bonnet if one wanted to put hair up in a bun, but even with that there was plenty of space left over. That stiffer sides were a bit too large for my small head so they were not as rounded as I l would have liked when it was tied on. It kept the sun away better than the mop cap so I wore it anyway, It arrived folded so you may wish to iron out the crease at the top prior to wearing,
